How soon do we need to contract with The Starlight Strings to be assured of your availability?

You should request a contract as soon as the location, date, and time frame of your event are set.

What should we do if we believe we want to contract with The Starlight Strings, but would like additional information?

Fill out and submit the "Availability and Pricing Request". We will normally respond within 24 hours regarding our availability and fee, and upon your concurrence, follow up with a contract. We require a 50% deposit to be included with the returned contract, by the specified return date on the contract. The additional 50% is due a minimum 14 days before the event. There may be an additional fee for holiday weekends and if the location is outside our "normal" perimeter, a travel fee will be required. How do you dress when you perform?

Standard attire is black tux for the men, and all black for the ladies. Outdoor events with temperatures exceeding 90 degrees require all black (no Tux).

How do you perform a typical wedding ceremony?

We usually open with "prelude" music fifteen to thirty minutes before the ceremony begins, for the seating of your guests. We then perform selections for seating of the grandparents and/or parents, the bridesmaids and bride's processional, sand or unity candle ceremony, the recessional (bride, groom, and bridal party exit), and "postlude" selections for the exiting of your guests.


For our wedding, what length of time do we need to contract you?

There is a one-hour minimum for The Starlight Strings. This is sufficient time for most wedding ceremonies. If your ceremony is a mass, add 1/2 hour. We can also provide music for the events following the ceremony: receiving line, photos, appetizers, cocktail hour, reception, dinner, etc., up to a total of 4 hours.

Click on the “Ceremony Guide” tab of the website. There you will find 21 of the most requested music selections, all demonstrated and performed for you by The Starlight Strings Violinist. There is also a "Suggested Use" column to help in your selection process. Most brides find that this is all they need to plan the music for their entire ceremony.
